HOTEL_Jupiter
As I have shared before I am a bit of a freak about architecture from the 50's/60's and in some cases even earlier. Known today as "mid-century modern", this style often employed larger window openings that sought to encourage bringing the outdoors in and vise versa. Designs were simple and without much of the ornamentation that had been common during earlier periods. For my wife's birthday this weekend we stayed at one of Portland's iconic mid-century motels that was probably incarnated as a Travelodge or something similar and which is today known as the Jupiter Hotel. While definitely not luxurious, this is a great place to catch a concert or grab a drink at the equally iconic Doug Fir Lounge.
